Writer Gandham Nagaraju passed away


Writer Gandham Nagaraju (42) who shot to fame with his dialogues for the cult hit, Gamyam, is died of illness. He was going treatment for liver-related diseases at Asian Institute of Gastroenterology in Hyderabad. On Wednesday morning, he passed away. He was born and brought up in Narasaraopet and his father Gandham Yagnavalkya Sarma was also famous writer.

Nagaraju started his career as a playwright with President Perayya, and he went on to write more plays, prizewinning stories and novels. One of his plays based on his real-life experiences as the Principal-in-charge at a college in Khammam led to the point where director Krish approached him for Gamyam.

Gandham Nagaraju's thought-provoking dialogues with a touch of wit got him good name. He wrote for films like Baanam, Inko Saari, Betting Bangrraju, and Gaaayam-2. He also worked in script of Sontha Ooru, another award-winning movie.

It is sad that two of technicians involved with the film Gamyam have passed away in short span of time. Just last week Anil R, who composed music for the film, also died of heart attack.
